Bahamas Ferries have called for their government to end its “blanket” ban on the scrap metal trade in the country, claiming that the lack of trade in the industry has led to a 50% drop in freight revenues on its back haul routes.
Anupam Fabricate Forging Cranes
The Indian crane manufacturer Anupam Industries has constructed two of the first 350 tonne capacity forging cranes to ever be developed in India. The company forged the cranes under a technical licence agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and the cranes will be supplied to construction engineering firm Larsen and Toubro Forgings.

The copper market seems to be losing some of it’s previous resilience in what must count as a worrying development. Heightened fears of a renewed global recession has led to demand for the industrial metal to drop off. Copper is generally used by those within the metal industry to get a gauge on the overall health of economic activity in the industry, so any shortfall is sure to cause a worry.
Ironbark Zinc signs MOU
Ironbark Zinc Limited have announced that they have signed a non-binding MOU with both China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering (NFC) and Construction Company Limited and Arccon Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Allmine Group Limited.

China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction, a company that manufactures metal products and a range of different machinery, has announced that it has returned to profitability during the first half of 2011 after posting a new profit of CNY 129 million (£12.2 million).
Chinese Steel Massive Profits
China Knowledge gave stated that, according to steel industry statistics released by the National Development and Reform Commission, the steel industry in China has made an enormous profit of CNY 155 billion (£14.7 billion) during the first half of 2011.
