The Lancashire based family that runs the metal manufacturing group Weston is set to collect around £54 million after the company was purchased by the aerospace group Senior, who will utilise their experience in working with Airbus components.
Weston Group makes aluminium and hard metal parts, including seat structures, for Airbus planes and was founded in the village of Foulridge, East Lancashire back in 1948. The business had remained within the family since that time and they will still play a large part in running it after the purchase.
The company creates components for a range of Airbus planes, including the A320, A330, A350 and A380 and employs 300 people throughout the UK and Thailand.
