Macedonia’s industrial production is expected to rise by 5-8% over the next year, encompassing both the mining and the metal industry in the process.
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski is claiming that the year should be a good one for the metal industry in particular, claiming “Mining and the metal industry will have a good year, which will trigger better results in the industry in general. According to my expectations, industry’s growth will range between five and eight percent in 2011.”
He also claimed that this boost will enable the creation of more jobs in both industries, claiming “After the crisis, there is an investment cycle in mining, which is the pillar in economy. It will encourage other sectors, which will pave the way for the economy to exit the crisis.”
