A pair of Finnish unions warned on Tuesday that workers in the country’s metal industry would be prepared to strike over an array of issues they have recently been facing. The two unions issues a strike notice and an overtime ban that covered 44 member companies of the key Federation of Technology Industries.

The Metalworkers’ Union claims that they will begin taking industrial action on October 21st, with the strikes expecting to see 32,000 members taking part before their conclusion on November 7th.

Additionally the Electrical Workers’ Union claimed that they would be adding their weight to the strikes, though they have provided fewer details of when they intend to take industrial action.

Talks over pay and working conditions between the two unions and the federation broke down recently after the unions rejected a payment framework proposed by the federation.
