The Finnish Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff have started industrial action against the Federation of Technology Industries after neither side agreed to a settlement proposal on Monday. The strike plunges the Finnish metal industry into further chaos, as a previous strike was only halted last week.
It is believed that the renewed round of industrial action will have less of an impact on the metal industry than the four-day strike by the Metalworkers’ Union and Pro, however the effects will still be felt by the industry.
It is estimated that around 10,000 members of the union will put down their tools as part of the action, with members of the IT sector expected to join the strikes if a resolution is not found soon.
